Book Festival Feb. 20th
Come join readers and writers at the Dearborn Street Book Festival.
Saturday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In the 300 and 400 block of West Dearborn St. in historic Old Englewood.
Featured attractions include live music, dancing, and a writing contest.
Guest lecturers include:
- Novelist Paul LaFleur, who will officially release his new novel, “Disturbing the Peace,” and lecture on writing killer suspense novels
- Radio personality and author Inez Bracy, who will give tips on writing self-help books
- Author Naomi Pringle, who will discuss ethnic history in novels
- Lorraine Ide, who will show how to create a family history or memoir
- Steve Reilly and Richard Brobst, poets who will lead a workshop on style and craft
- Steve Baumann, a newspaper columnist who will discuss essay writing
- Mary Lou Williams, a professional storyteller, who will host a children’s’ story hour.
Festivalgoers will be able to compete for cash prizes in the “What I Love” writing contest, which will take place during the festival. To reserve a table or for more information call Diana 474-5837.
