This is a parent/guardian only event designed to allow parents to explore the classroom learning laboratories', explore our eclectic approach to learning here at TerraNichol, mingle with interested families, and converse with the TerraNichol Teaching Team. Open House will also offer the opportunity to begin the registration process for the upcoming school year. We are pleased to announce that for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year, we will continue to offer Kindergarten as well as First Grade to our program at the request of our families!
At TerraNichol Academy we have eclectic fusion of philosophies and education approaches (including Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligence, visual and performing arts, Eco-friendly approach and Reggio Emilia, Italy approach).
We believe that the early childhood experience lays the foundation for all future growth and development. High quality programming for young children enhances development and lays the groundwork for happy, healthy and productive futures. We believe that all children have limitless potential. Early childhood teachers look at each individual child in a holistic way, respecting and nurturing each child's potential for physical, emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and spiritual growth.
We believe that parents are a child's primary teachers. Parents are essential to a child's early learning and teachers in high quality programs work with parents as partners to provide the highest quality early childhood experiences for each child. We believe that the learning process is dynamic, involving the teachers, parents, and the children. The most effective teachers provide authentic experiences, which, are relevant to child's daily life and give meaning to each child's learning. Early childhood teachers provide children with emotional security, opportunities to explore, take risks, succeed, fail and persevere.
