Festivals / Shows
Join us January 27-28, 2018 for a weekend of great food and music as a new tradition commences in Englewood: the Englewood Seafood & Music Festival. The event will be held in Pioneer Park on West Dearborn Street. Hours both Saturday and Sunday are 10 am to 6 pm. General admission to the event and live musical performances is FREE. The event is hosted by the Olde Englewood Village Association and Englewood Community Redevelopment Agency, coordinated with Sarasota County Government.
The creation of the event is approached with the same philosophy as a great meal: through the expert selection and combining of ingredients. Delicious foods are cooked onsite by local restaurants and food purveyors incorporating only the freshest ingredients such as grouper, mahi, stone crabs, oysters, shrimp and soft-shell crabs. Seafood dishes are prepared using sustainable ocean resources from the Florida Gulf Coast. Meat entrees include Italian and Polish sausage, steak sandwiches and chicken-on-a-stick. A variety of vegetarian and rice dishes also are on the menus. Alcoholic drinks (beer, wine and mixed-drinks) and nonalcoholic drinks (water, sodas and blended fruit drinks) along with a diversity of side dishes and desserts are on the menu.
Enjoy your meal listening to some of Florida’s top musical groups. Performances are live onstage in musical genres from rock, jazz and blues to reggae, Caribbean and steel pan sounds. Musicians and their performance times will be posted to the event website as the event nears.
